The mission of the
Ontario County Soil and Water Conservation District is to protect,
enhance and conserve the natural resources of Ontario County.
District staff and
Board of Directors members are committed to providing technical
assistance and education to the residents of Ontario County to ensure
the wise use of soil, water, and other natural resources.
Ontario County is
rich in natural resources: it contains or shares five of the Finger
Lakes. Rich agricultural lands, extensive forests, abundant wildlife and
water resources enhance the quality of life for all residents of the
county. It is the duty and privilege of the Ontario County Soil and
Water Conservation District to preserve and protect these resources
while helping to maintain farming as a viable, profitable and
environmentally sound enterprise.
